Wednesday Yarn Along

Hi Everyone :)

I hope you are enjoying summer (or winter for those Australian followers) I know that typically, knitting slows down in the hotter months. But around here, we haven't slowed down a bit.

The girls met up last night for knitting group and a lot of knitting took place! Everyone had something going and it was another great night. Even the kids had fun swimming in the pool while the girls knitted and laughed. Tara started a great cowl, Quinn started a hat using our hand dyed alpaca yarn. It's going to look great. Andee had something new going...I think another bear, Lizzie started crocheting her very first sweater.

Here's what we are working on (and reading) this week:

Leanne's Needles:

It's all about knitting for the baby this week. I'm expecting his debut in the next few weeks, so trying to finish up some goodies for him.

Baby Booties (so cute and quick!!!)

Just started this book:
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

I have gestational diabetes with this pregnancy. The only upside to that is you get amazing ultrasounds of your little one. I went today and here's a picture of the little boy that will be getting all these knitted treasures. If you look closely, you'll see his nose, lips and fingers over his cheeks. I can't wait to hold him!!!

Happy Knitting!

  1. Ultrsounds are amazing! What a lucky little guy to be reciving such lovely knitted treasures. I used the same shoe pattern to make some doll shoes a few months ago. With some adjustments of course.

  2. Oh my, how sweet. That ultrasound picture is amazing - at least something that's positive about your diabetes.
The cardie looks amazing, and I love that little bunny blanket - he looks much cuter than on the pattern picture! Very lucky little guy indeed.

I read "The Shadow of the Wind" when I had my son, and I loved it, although I must say I found it a bit too spooky to read during those first days when I just had my baby - but had a really hard time putting it down!!

Happy knitting, and good luck for your new arrival soon!

  4. What a great ultrasound photo! I have this book at home. I have started it a few times but something happens & I never get going - I will have to try again because I have heard a lot of good things about it.
