Farm Life Isn't Always Easy

Alpacas are considered livestock.

Raised for their beautiful fleece.

Herd animals by nature, shy and don't like to be touched.

But then one alpaca comes along, gives kisses to all, will run to you for a carrott

and becomes a part of your family.

A fuzzy white guy, always willing to be the show stopper.

Pleasing the crowds, causing silly trouble and gracing the cover of a magazine.

This alpaca's name was Sanda.

Loved by so many and will be missed dearly.

We are not sure what was wrong with Sanda. We have a few ideas but hopefully soon we will have an answer. He will be studied by Cornell University. They have taken many samples from his body and we hope to have an answer and help other alpaca owners that encounter this strange illness.

Sanda was a very sweet funny boy.
So many people that visit the farm loved him and he was a favorite of the little kids.

We'll miss him.

  2. I am so sad about Sanda. I hope and pray they will find a cure and that he will have helped make that happen. He was such a good boy. And to add that he was on the cover of a magazine I have to add he will also be on the cover of the 2012 Empire Showbook. For such a young guy he was quite the star.
It is so hard to use the word livestock and think of Sanda he was a part of all of us and everyone that met him. Rest in peace good buddy you are going to be missed.

  3. Sorry to hear of your loss, hoping that they will be able to figure it out and bring meaning to that loss in helping other animals and owners.
