Yarn Along

Howdy. It's that time again. Wednesday....knitting day :)

I'm joining in with all the great knitters out there and sharing what
I have been working on and reading.

First of all, speaking of reading.
I FINALLY finished Cutting for Stone. Normally I devour a book and finish it
within a week. But this book lingered and took me a while to get through.
After 2 months of reading I finished it. WOW.
What a book. It will stay with me for a very long time.

So onto what I'm knitting and reading now....

I whipped up this little toddler hat to sell in our farm store.
It's a mix of tan baby alpaca and alpaca sock yarn.
I bought this sock yarn years ago in my favorite yarn store in Saratoga, NY.
I realized after buying it that I love sock yarn when it's in a skein, but not
a fan of the striping once I start knitting.
I did realize however that if I knit and add a solid stripe between the rows, I love it.

I am also knitting a new Grey Loop.
Great pattern. It has just enough changes to keep me happy.

It has a nice mix of eyelet sections, stockinette and purl sections.

So far so good. I needed to read a short book after my marathon book!

Chase says hello :)
Where is my baby going????

Happy knitting!

  2. Oh man. Potter would be so jealous of Chase's tractor (although Potter would call it a truck). As always I wish we lived closer so the boys could play together.

  3. Beautiful muted tones in that hat. That grey loop pattern is so relaxing to knit. Your yarn for it looks comfy and cozy.

  5. Your hat is adorable! I really like the hat stand too. Did you make it? I've been looking for something exactly like this for my shop. :)

    1. Hi! The hat stand is made by my dad at his custom millwork business. THEY ARE 5 1/2" BALLS MADE OUT OF PINE AND ARE $45.00. If you would like some, let us know. He can mail them to you. Thanks for visiting!! and happy knitting.
