2007 was a good year for grapes

I attended my first ever Wine Festival yesterday.
I don't know much about wine...just that I like to drink it.
So when my friend asked me if I wanted to go to
The Garden State Wine and Jazz Festival at Allaire State Park
I said YES!

Along with thousands of other wine enthusiasts, I enjoyed a beautiful day
in my favorite park, sipping NJ made wine, eating and laughing with some friends.

I learned that I have very expensive taste and that NJ actually produces some decent wine.

I learned what I like. Dry oaky reds. I learned that i have expensive taste.
I also tasted Chambourcin for the first time. I have never heard of it and yet every booth
had some. This 2007 blend was delicious. So at the end of the day we went back to buy a
bottle. My friend was in front of me, she bought some. I bought one.
And two behind me was our other friend and was told that I had bought the very last bottle of this wine. I felt so bad! So I told her we'll have to get together to share it.

The Nomad pizza truck was awesome. It was an old truck with a coal fire pizza oven built right into the side of it. Delicious!!!!! Sooooo good.

After the festival, I grabbed the kids and headed over to Andee's for a little bbq.

It's been a busy few days and the next are still jam packed before school begins.

Here's to the last days of summer....Cheers!

  2. Fun! Some wine loving friends recently came to visit. I was hoping they would impart some wine knowledge, but what they offered was, "Well, do you like it? Then remember it for next time." I guess it is that simple, huh? We did a few wine tastings while they were here and I though roughly enjoyed them!
