Maryland Sheep & Wool

I didn't think it was going to happen this year, but I made it down to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. Normally my sisters are with me, but because Grant is too new and Andee didn't have anyone to watch her boys. So Tara and I took the trip together. It also happens to be our birthdays, so we had a nice time celebrating being another year older. (she's the older one by 8 days...just sayin)

We packed up and drove down to our hotel.
I spied knitters in the lobby from our hotel room window.

We enjoyed a nice casual dinner at The Pub Dog. Beers, two at a time and good pizza. Yes please.

Then we joined in with other knitters in the hotel lobby.

Time for the festival.

How cool is this license plate!

 Yarn Bombing!

In line for Jennie the Potter. I was in line for a long time!!!! Andee and I both wanted a mug to start our collection. Score! We're now part of the Jennie group.

I felt like I bought so much! But really, most of it was for my family members that couldn't go. It was fun shopping for everyone. Of course I managed to get a few goodies for myself!

SHould have bought one....next year.

More yarn bombing and the proof in the parking lot that I'm not the only knitting nerd.

Home again. Andee's mug and icelandic yarn.

My haul :)

New yarn.

It was nice to get away. It wasn't for long and certainly wasn't the same without my sisters.
It was my first time leaving my littlest boy and was very strange. But the boys were good so it was a success.

  1. Thank you so, so much for the pictures. I am so, so sad I didn't make it there this year. I had planned to go the whole weekend to really take in the entire festival. So much going on in my life right now I just needed the weekend at home. But your wonderful photos took me there. Would love to know more about the mug lady. The mugs are gorgeous. Does she sell elsewhere? Already have my calendar marked for next year.

    1. I'm sorry you couldn't go. My sisters couldn't either :( the mugs are by Jennie the Potter and she only sells at shows. So her work is a hot item and goes quickly. She'll be at rhinebeck in the fall.

  2. What a great compilation! Thanks for all the yarn bombing shots. I'd heard about it, but hadn't seen it. Someone texted me a picture of the same BL sheep I think! :-D
