It's Finished

My little yellow sweater is complete.
I had a quick minute to take a photo and Smoke lined up just perfectly. LOL.

I have already worn it a few times. It's nice light cotton alpaca sweater that is a perfect layering sweater. The buttons are cute but I have a feeling they will have to come off and replaced. They are heavy and they hang a bit too much on the light cotton fabric. We'll see...

I bought some herbs at a local nursery. I'm so ready for the summer! I am keeping these little guys inside for now where it's still warm!

I just knitted up a little baby bonnet for the Coop. I think I'll knit some things to sell this month.
And maybe a pair of socks (ugh..I hate knitting socks but they are perfect baseball game knitting!)

Yarn Along

Joining in with the weekly yarn along over at Ginny's blog.
I am almost complete with my yellow sweater. I can't wait to wear it.
I have had a few times while knitting it that it would have matched my outfit. So I know it will get lots of wear. It's a cotton alpaca blend yarn.
Excited about the little blue flower buttons I purchased on Etsy. Hoping they work ok.

I am reading My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout.
Really enjoying it. I know if I had a day to just sit and read I would finish it in one sitting. But yeah....that doesn't happen anymore!!!

Feels like spring FINALLY!!!

Happy Yarn Along Day.

Yarn Along and a Haircut

Made good progress on my yellow sweater this week. I'm almost complete with the body! Hoping to have this finished by first weekend in May for the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival.

If you remember, last week I was reading a book, Water From My Heart by Charles Martin.
Last week I wasn't sure about it. Well...after 100 pages the book completely hooked me and I stayed up late to finish it. It's now our book club pick for next month!

I started reading, My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. I have read two of her books and I loved them. I'm loving this one too. One of my favorite books by her was Olive Kitteridge. I have friends that didn't like it at all. To each is own I guess! So far this little book is a joy to read and I wish I could just sit and read it in one sitting. (It's that kind of book)

And now to the HAIRCUT....
Mr. Chase decided on Friday afternoon that it would be a wise decision to CUT his own hair. Right in the front. Short. Very short. And also filled his hair with half a tub of thick gel. My husband was home with him and quickly discovered Chase's "new do". I came home and we both shook our heads, then started to laugh. Good thing he's a boy and it's easy to fix.
Off to the hairdresser we went.....going to be a while until those pretty curls grow back!

Have a great week. What are you knitting and reading?

Look Who's 2!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of the terrible twos!!!!
I love this kid to pieces but glad I don't have to live through the two year old stage again. A nephew that is 2 is easier than my own kid being 2!
Although the teenager stage isn't much better!!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Grant.
You silly, adorable, curly haired, devil smile, trouble maker, smart, curious, non-stop cutie pie,
we love you so much!!!!

Yarn Along

Joining in with the weekly yarn along!

I am knitting a little cotton, alpaca cardigan for myself. I'm hoping to have it knitted up in time to wear to Maryland Sheep & Wool in May. However, with the weather we are having here, I might need a heavy sweater still! It's freezing in NJ!!!!

Pattern notes: Heathered Cardigan

A friend of mine recommended this book to me. So far, I'm not in love with it but I trust her and I'll keep reading. It got 5 stars on amazon (which doesn't happen often) so it must get better.

Howdy

It's been a while since I've been on here. Work has been very busy and exciting lately. I feel very settled in to my new job and have hit a nice rhythm with work. Getting used to being away from home all day still is hard, but I'm getting more and more comfortable. I feel like the weekends are precious now and every minute with my husband and kids counts more. I guess it's a nice thing. No moments are wasted.

Anyway....just thought I would share some random pictures from my phone from the past week or so. No particular order...just the daily ins and outs of life.

This last picture was taken by Tracey Cunningham Photography. She is the talented woman that took photos on our farm last fall. She asked me to knit some little bonnets for photo props and this little bear bonnet is one of them. What a cutie! Look at all that hair!!!

Knitting: Blue Cowl (Honey Cowl)
Green Shawl (Reyna Shawl)
Yellow sweater (Heathered)

My mom, dad and sister Liz went to the North American Alpaca Show this past weekend and I am so happy to report that lots of ribbons were won!!!! I'll do a new post with all the details for you all.

Have a great week.
