Sweating at the NJ Festival!

It was sooo hot and steamy this past weekend but that didn't stop us for driving out for an afternoon surrounded by sheep, yarn and friends. We drove to the Garden State Sheep Breeders Festival on Saturday. It's a little over an hour from our house. We had a nice ride in Purple Debbie's fancy new car!

While at the festival, we wandered through the four barns full of sheep and yarn. It was crazy hot and I didn't "chit chat" as much as usually because I just couldn't stand still in the hot air. I loved seeing all the beautiful yarn and samples on display. I didn't buy anything but I did find a sweater that I fell in love with at the Cape May Fiber Co. booth. It's the Francesca Cardigan. My sister, Liz modeled it and I knew we needed one in our life! Last night I gathered a bunch of yarn bits and bobs in my stash and casted on. I'm already loving it! Such a quick fun knit.

Next fiber festival will be in October at Rhinebeck (NY Sheep & Wool Festival)

NJ Sheep & Wool Festival 2019

We had a great morning at the NJ Sheep & Wool Festival. We saw friends, found some great yarn and goodies. My nephew Shea came home with an adorable dwarf lionhead bunny. So cute!!! I found more yarn to finish my Leaves of Grass blanket. YAY!!! and finished the day with some outside knitting, wine, food and football.

Cheers to fall and festivals!

NJ Sheep & Wool Festival Part 2

So if you read yesterday's post, I shared some photos from the NJ Sheep & Wool Festival.
Here are a few more that I downloaded from my camera.

The first sheep's was right at the entrance with his owner. His name was Moose and he was having some stomach issues that day (that's the Pepto Bismal on his face!) But how cute is he in that hat!?

On the way home from the festival we took a quick walk around the Golden Nugget Flea Market in Lambertville. We used to visit the flea market often we we lived in PA. It had a lot of really cool finds. I would have stayed longer but a certain Pittsburgh Steeler fan insisted on getting home to watch the first game of the season!
