Milo and Otis

These two are becoming quick buddies. Seems we have our own Milo and Otis in the works :)

Notice the two tails in the high grass...

Clearly I'm Nuts

Everyone casts on a new sweater a week before Rhinebeck right?! I'm nuts. Yes. I already know this about myself. I just wasn't happy with my Rhinebeck sweaters so I started another one. I highly doubt I'll get it finished in 5 days. My schedule (and body) can't knit for hours on end. But I'll give it a try!

This is the Jupiter Crop by Caitlin Hunter. I love knitting her patterns. Her color work is so pretty.
I'm using some scrap yarn left over from a cowl I made my mom last Christmas.

I've knitted the moisture right out of my pointer finger. Using lots of O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream! The stuff works miracles. I also left my knitting unattended for three seconds and Buddy took a nice chomp out of my needle. Oops. I should know better! Needle is a little crunchy but it still works. Ahhh the life of living with a puppy!

So...we'll see if I have a new sweater by Saturday or Sunday. Who knows?!

Another sweater on my needles...

Rhinebeck countdown is on! Only 9 days until the fairgrounds will be filled to the brim with knitters, crocheters, fiber enthusiasts, farmers, shepherds, sheep, vendors, food and fun! I am soooo looking forward to it! Rhinebeck has been nicknamed "Knitter's Prom". People wear their creations proudly and everyone takes notice of the hard work and talent at the festival.

I made two sweaters for the occasion but to be honest, I'm not happy with either. They're just "not me". Not my typical colors or style. It's been bugging me. So what did I do? Casted on a new sweater last night with leftover yarn from my stash. In "my colors" and style. Now, can I get it done by next weekend????Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm going to try...because, why not?

I am knitting the Juniper Crop by Caitlyn Hunter. If I get it done, great. If not, I'll enjoy working on it while hanging at our rental house enjoying great company and beautiful views.

An added bonus of the year is my billboard artwork is STILL being used! I still get excited to see it. They have been using it since 2019 despite other artwork being chosen for the festival book and swag.

Will I see you there?! I hope so!

New Book Club!

I can't believe we are nearing a year with our Patreon group! I have enjoyed getting to know different women from all over the country over our zooms every month. We have a wonderful group! Not only do we all enjoy fiber arts, many of us are readers. Liz and I thought it would be fun to get a little book club of our own started. We are kicking it off with October and reading "The Rules of Magic" by Alice Hoffman. It was written after Practical Magic but is a prequel to that story. I loved the movie Practical Magic so I'm hoping this book has a similar feel.

If you would like to join us, you can find out details on our Patreon page here:
https://www.patreon.com/cocktailhouratthecoop

We will be reading a book a month and discussing it during our monthly cocktail hour zoom.
Happy Reading! and Knitting! and Crocheting!

What it's really all about

When you take away the business of the weekend, this is what it's all about.
We are the luckiest girls in the world to have these two as parents.
To grow up how we did, to have them close by as we raise our boys, you can't beat it.

Last week...

Busy week! Keeping puppy busy, teaching, learning, knitting, coffee, dinner out, sports, pumpkin picking at the farm, setting up for Farm Days, more walks with puppy, more coffee, more knitting :)

It's a VERY busy time of year! Oh yeah...and throw in working full time and teaching knitting lessons at night, Patreon knit night and band rehearsal. No wonder I'm always tired :) But it's a good tired.
