Yarn Along

It's Wednesday.....

That means linking up to Ginny's yarn along :)

I have to admit, I love this day. It's a great benchmark to show what I've knitted and read in the past week. I miss being in school. (it's been many many many years since I was in school) but you know what I mean. I still like to learn new things, read some new great books and I think this little Wednesday yarn along gives me just the incentive I need to accomplish this. It adds a little fun into the daily grind of real life.

So without further a do....
This is what I am working on this week.

The body of my Small Things Sweater is complete.
This will be a gift for my girlfriend's 4th little baby. She doesn't know what she is having so I knitted this up with a beautiful turquoise/sea green color. I'm struggling with what buttons to use!!!!
I really want something fun. Not just simple buttons. I've been on etsy for hours but still can't decide.
I have to knit up the sleeves next.

I picked up this book Ocean Breezes at the library last week.
I don't usually make scarves. I don't know why. Just don't. So, maybe this book will inspire me.
PLUS I just found out that I won a gorgeous skein of yarn on a blog giveaway that might be perfect for one of these scarves! woohoo.

 Close up of the sweater.

And it's finally time for Chase to have a new sweater. This little pattern is so easy. It was the first sweater that I ever knitted up for my older boys. The problem back then was I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't know how to bind off loosely. This always made it interesting when I had to pull it off their heads!!!!!! I'll do it right this time. I'm using some tan Quince & Co. Lark yarn from my stash bin. I bought it right after I had him so it's high time it gets turned into something!

It's starting to look and feel like Fall over here at the Jersey Shore :)
As much as I LOVE summer, I do love the fall.
My husband knows how much I love my jeans, sweaters and cowboy boots.
It's that time!!!

Have a great Wednesday. Can't wait to see what everyone else is knitting and reading.

-Happy Knitting

  1. I don't know but, the kimono styling of the Small Things Sweater, to me, screams out for frog closures. But, that's just me. ;-)

  4. Beautiful knitting! And I'm so glad to know about the scarf book -- I have a friend who is a fellow Aquarius and I was thinking of knitting some kind of water-inspired scarf, cowl, or shawl for her. This might be just the thing! Are those your alpacas in the header photo? We are planning on buying land soon (in the next 2-3 years) and I very much want to have alpacas. I would love to know more about them and what kinds of things a newcomer to alpacas ought to know!

    1. Hi Kathy. The alpacas are from my parent's farm. I live next door and my sisters and I all help out. My mom would be a great person to talk to about getting into the business. My parents had horses for years and in the past three years have been raising alpacas. It's wonderful!! Please take a look at our website; www.arrowacresfarm.com Maybe it can give you some direction. I notice you are in North Carolina. Where about are you? My mom's best friend relocated to the outer banks 20 years ago.
