Robusto

Meet the newest member of our herd! He was born on Sunday, May 10th Mother's Day.
This is Arrow Acres Robusto

Sire: CCNF Smoke Ring
Dam: Wdamo (meaning tobacco in Abenaki Indian)
So we went with a cigar theme and named this guy Robusto.
He weighed in over 21 lbs at birth! That's a big boy!

Welcome to the farm "Buster"

Baby Boy!!!

Welcome to the farm little guy!!!
You are handsome, just like your daddy. Your fleece is awesome and we're so happy you are here!

Star gave birth to a healthy boy this morning around 9am.

Still no name, but here are pictures...

Enjoy!

Brand new...getting warmed up by my mom

A treat for the mom, food for Star

 Spectating and eating Wade's puffs

 Still warming up
 Cousins sharing some puffs

Morning drinks and knitting had to wait...baby came quickly!

 Outside with mommy

 Looking for the milk bar

Looks like a sweet boy just like his dad, Kigo. This is the first baby bred and born on the farm.
It's also Kigo's first offspring. Very exciting.

 Look at that curly fleece!!!!!!!

Star is a very good mom

Left alone to bond and rest.

The other girls are watching.

Spicy is due now too. Look at that big belly!
Cria season is so much fun (when births go as easy as today!)

Yarn Along and some new babies!

Hello!!!!!!!
Guess what?!!!! Lizzie is in labor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee! Please send good thoughts, prayers and happy smiles to her  and Nick today. I hope all goes smoothly and this little no name baby boy enters this world calmly, healthy and happy, screaming and pink :) Ohhhhh boooooyyy I'm so excited. I LOVE new babies!!!!!!

And in other baby news, our amazing mom alpaca, Melody, delivered an adorable little girl cria yesterday around noon.

Isn't she beautiful? Mychrona and Lilly were such sweet aunts and wouldn't leave her alone.
We're very happy to have a little girl. It's what we hoped for.

Doesn't every pregnant girl sit in an alpaca field?!!! Now it's her turn!
Chase managed to open the fence gate during the birth. Like I said, Trouble.

Up and walking in no time!
The herd comes to meet her.
The Bean Queen looking on....breathing a sigh of relief.

And now onto the Yarn Along this week:

I am still reading Cutting For Stone. I LOVE it.
I started knitting a beret using hand dyed alpaca yarn that Liz made.
I am hoping to sell this in the farm store. I can just see it on one of the beautiful Spring Lake women that buy from us.

Don't forget to check out the other yarn alongs over at Ginny's site.

I will keep you updated on Liz and the baby!

I just realized that I used an obscene amount of !!!! in this post. I'm a bit excited, so I think it's ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Knitting

Waiting for Babies!

This is my mom, aka The Bean Queen.
She took a break from farm chores to sit and wait for crias to be born.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.

The girls are showing signs that labor should be soon.
Come on girls! You can do it!!!!
