Spring Cleaning Shawl

If you're looking for a fun, mindless knit that is super portable, look no further! This is the Spring Cleaning Shawl and I loved knitting it. I used yarn from my stash. It's a combination of sock yarn that was gifted to me by some knitting friends over the years. I also used a skein of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift I bought at Vogue Live NYC last year. The top two triangles are yarn from my friend Robin. She dyed yarn for us the first year we had our big Rhinebeck house and it's been sitting waiting for me to make into something beautiful. I'm so glad it finally became a thing!

A trip to Syracuse, NY State Fair and a town we can't pronounce!

My mom and I went up to Syracuse to visit my oldest son. He now works for Syracuse University in the sports information department. While we were there we spent a day at the NY State Fair, enjoyed some great food, great company and a day trip to a town we couldn't pronounce!!! We had to ask someone in town how to say it and glad we did because I never would have guessed. The town is Skaneateles, NY and it's beautiful!!!! We had a great day wondering the shops, eating a delicious lunch at the Bluewater Grill and relaxing by the lake with some knitting.

Hope you enjoy the photos...

We stopped at Bingham's Restaurant on the way up to get the BEST Coconut Cream Pie and cup a of coffee. 100% worth the stop!

On to the fair...

Butter sculpture was our first stop

Followed up with a 25cent cup of ice cold chocolate milk. Delicious!

We had a great time in the butterfly enclosure.

I think this was my favorite event: the draft horse pulling competitions. Amazing!

My favorite building of the show (shocker, I know)

Fried dough in some sugar? Ok! Dalton read about this online and we searched for a bit to find it. Was worth the hunt.

Lumberjack show was fun. Lots of dad jokes!

Great dinner in Syracuse. Poutine and delicious sandwiches.

Then it was time for my son to work. So we headed over to Skaneateles (pronounced: Ski-nee-at-liss)
Skaneateles Lake is one of the finger lakes. It's crystal clear and breathtaking.

Kiddo was done with work and we ended our stay at the hotel with happy hour and a nice dinner.

This is my Syracuse (mainly Skaneateles) haul...

I had a wonderful time and as I get older, time with my adult kids and time spent with my parents is becoming more and more meaningful. I'm so glad we went :)
