Meeting THE Fat Squirrel!

Let me begin with this statement. I'm a total dork at heart. And I am very proud to be one and I own my dorkness. As an adult I know who I am. I know what I like. And if you think it's odd...ok, I don't care.

Part of the dork level is totally loving knitting, yarn, blogs, instagram posts about knitters and yarn as well as podcasts (video and sound). I love it all. It's what makes the world go round. Right now, in my life it's what makes me happy!

A year ago, our house was hit by lightning and it knocked out our tv and internet service for 2 weeks. I do love my tv and left without internet or tv I had to find something to fill that void.
In comes PODCASTS! I started listening on my phone. I found that I loved to hear people talking about knitting, wool, cooking, reading and motherhood. I found like-minded people that were spending some time putting their thoughts out into the world through sound.

I have learned so many things by listening. I have kept up to date on what is going on in the fiber world and it's very entertaining.

My favorite, favorite, favorite is Amy Beth aka The Fat Squirrel.
Have you watched her? Well, if you have then you know....she's hysterical. Helllllloooooooooo!
I love her. So when I heard she was making the trip to Rhinebeck, I was a bit excited and hoped to meet her. Rhinebeck brings thousands and thousands of people to the fairgrounds and finding someone in that crowd isn't exactly easy. And then she announced that she would be at the podcast meet up on the hill! Yippee! I asked my mom and Liz if they minded going to "the hill" to meet her. Ummm ok. They then saw me get ridiculously giddy and I have to admit my heart was beating a little too fast. Yes, I'm a dork. And I was a very happy dork!!!

Hey, it's the little things in life right?
Amy Beth, you make us laugh and keep us entertained. Keep doing what you're doing!

  1. i am a bit of a dork as well, but i don't talk about it. when i was a young adult i loved everything involved with my home and family. if i come to your house, i will organize and clean it while i am there. i have heard all the martha stewart jokes there are. i use to hide my love for baking, cooking, organizing and back then i crocheted. my friends and family shopped till they dropped and i would stay home and make handmade christmas ornaments

are you brushing back a tear in the last image?? i have not listened, even though you told me to, i will have to look her up!!!.
