A Visit to Purl Soho

For the past two years, Broadway tickets have been the big Christmas gift for my middle kiddo.
He and I head into the city for sight-seeing, dinner and a show. This year we attended A Bronx Tale the Musical as a part of Kids Night On Broadway. Kids under 18 go for free with a paying adult. What a great and affordable way to see a play! We decided to take the entire day off of school and work and go up to the city early. We had Soho on our minds and the weather was excellent so the plan was made and Soho it was! And you know what's in Soho right???!!!!! PURL SOHO! I have never been and my son said he didn't mind going with me.

I was so excited to be there. It's just as I had pictured it. Seeing items from their website in person was a big thrill. The space is beautiful as are all the displays and projects. The yarn stretches high up to the ceiling in all colors. It's stocked with pretty fabric and notions. Everything was perfection. I oohed and ahhed over everything and my son laughed at me. Overall I was probably only there for half and hour. I could have spent hours. I ended up buying two skeins of Purl Soho's Worsted Twist in the Gray Fig color way. It's soft and beautiful. I almost bought a pale pink, but Garrett thought the other one looked better on me. Well, to be honest when I asked him which one looked better on me, his response was, "I don't know much about fashion. I just pick things to wear that aren't dirty." Yeah...that's a boy for you! But he did like the gray purple, so that's what I chose.

We spent some time walking around the city, enjoying a wonderful dinner at Becco and then enjoyed the show. It was a great day that I will never forget.

  1. Thanks for sharing your visit to Purl Soho. it sure has a lot of yarn to choose from. You must have felt like a kid in a candy store. Garrett seems to know a little about choosing the right color.
