Fossil Hunting

Sunday afternoon, after a nice little morning at the beach, we went home. Chase was worn out from two straight days of beaching it. It was too nice out and I didn't feel like cleaning my house. Soooooo I forced two of my kids to go fossil hunting with me. Well, I only had to force one of them (the 12 year old tween). He was not happy with me.
But he humored me and I dare say he had a good time. He was much more cheery on the ride home than the ride there. :)

Here's where we went: Big Brook Preserve in Colts Neck, NJ
A nice little stream with fossils and shark teeth dating back millions of years.
We found a few little things. No shark teeth this trip but I'll definitely go back and try again.

  1. We have plant fossils in the creek/waterfalls that run through our farm. I have great memories of doing this same thing with my own kids. Love this post!

  2. this looks like fun!!! i miss chase's curls and my house is filthy, i have no energy to clean it!!!!
