Hi all. Happy Yarn Along day.
The heat has been brutal around here so I stayed indoors for most of Saturday and knitted away.
I started the Golden Child shawl and it's been an easy knit. Just what I was looking for.
It has some solid sections, striped and textures. With a simple repeat, it's easy to memorize and knit away.
I am reading The Lake House by Kate Morton.
It started out slow but once it got going I read it all day on Sunday while I sat in my beach chair in the ocean. Yes, IN the ocean. It was so hot and I sat as low as I could to the water edge to keep cool. It was glorious. The book has completely caught my attention and I think I'm going to enjoy the rest.
What are you knitting and reading?

Such a pretty shawl. I hear ya on the sitting *in* the ocean. I am so ready for Fall! This heat!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to just sit and read in the water while my youngest searched for sea critters. It was a nice few hours on a VERY hot day! I'm ready for fall too.
DeleteGorgeous pattern - did I miss what yarn you are using? Also, I couldn't even venture out of the a/c to the beach it was so hot this weekend! While I do not like winter, this is a little ridiculous especially if you like to knit with wool.
ReplyDeleteThe golden yarn is a sock yarn from Swietzer’s Fiber Mill that I got from Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. I have NO clue what the color is!!! My memory has failed me. I had it already wound and no clue what it is. :)
DeleteYour shawl is lovely! We've had such a hot, dry summer here in southern California. I'm looking forward to cooler temps. I love Kate Morton's books; great reads. Enjoy your day, Pat
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat. I read her book, The Forgotten Garden and really liked it. This one is really picking up and I'm loving it now.
