I've been on a knitting roll now that school is out for summer.
I have had less running around and work is manageable right now, so the needles have been clicking away. I finished up the Clockwork Shawl. I chose this pattern to knit for the Arrow Acres Summer KAL. I'm running the knit-a-long and thought it would be fun to participate. The rules were to knit something "summery" which basically meant anything that is not a heavy sweater or gigantic woolen blanket. Shawls, socks, etc...
I knitted this shawl using yarn from Marigold Jen. I purchased it at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival this year.
We had a few cool days and I actually got to wear it a bit with a t-shirt. Love how light it is!
I also decided to be a little more prepared with my Christmas gift knitting this year.
So I casted on another Samen shawl.
I'm calling this my Noah's Ark shawl. The shawl is a combination of yarns held two together throughout. All yarn was from my stash and the list of fibers is long!
This shawl contains:
Alpaca sock yarn by Cascade
hand dyed alpaca yarn (dyed by Liz)
merino MadelinTosh dk
Anzula squishy merion/silk
Shibui pebble merino/silk
Fiber mill yarn: silk, baby camel, yak
Now i have to block it and put it away until Christmas. Hopefully I'll remember where I put it!
I'm reading The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty. It's a surprising book because it's nothing like I had expected. I'm just about done and curious to see how it ends.
Joining in with Ginny again this week for the yarn along!
The colors of your Noah's Ark shawl look great together. I love the hint of green in the mixture. You didn't share an opinion about The Husband's Secret. It's coming up on my reading list and I can't help but be curious. ;^)
ReplyDeleteI just finished it and it was good! Totally not what I had expected. Worth the read.
