Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival 2022

I just got back from Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival 2022. Typically this is just a sister (plus Paige) trip but Liz couldn't make it because alpaca babies are due (and her knee is still healing from ACL surgery). When I tried to make a reservation at our normal hotel, it was all booked. I made a new game plan and looked into a small house nearby. A few of us hopped in the car on Friday and headed down.

We started with a delicious lunch at Catonsville Gourmet. Our meals were so good!
We picked it because the people dining in the window looked happy. We made a good choice!

Happy diners!

Then we headed to our house to drop off some bags before going to the Guiness Brewery to meet up with some fiber friends and FINALLY meet Chevas in person!

If you don't know this chick, watch her podcast. She's awesome.

Back at our house to settle in and order some take out.

Festival Day 1! Embracing the rain....

Oh the rain!!! We're all nuts! But we had a blast and honestly it made it funny. So many people walking in the rain all for yarn and hugs.

If a booth could win for prettiest booth, this would win! Everything was beautiful.

My favorite gyros. We had to stand and eat them in the rain but they were still tasty!

Green Mountain Spinnery and the very talented Kate!

We threw together a podcast meet up. I honestly didn't think we would make it to 2:00 but the rain slowed down so we all gathered on the sheep shearing stage. It was so much fun to see new and old faces!

The Knitsters!!!! Always fun to see this crew :)

Time to leave and not blow away! Then we got stuck in the mud...

A HUGE shout out to the Boy Scouts at the festival. They helped 100s of cars get out of the mud. They were awesome!

Back to our house for dinner and show and tell.

Stacy made me a delicious carrot cake to celebrate my birthday a few days early. It was so good!

Back for day 2 of the festival. We just went for a little bit to walk around and see if we missed anything. The rain had moved out but it was much chillier. We bundled up and enjoyed the morning before heading back to NJ.

Gyro #2!

I came home with a smile on my face and some goodies :)

These were birthday gifts from Sassy Karen (the bag) and yarn from Valerie (Creations by Valerie). I'm a lucky girl.

Karen also gave me this fancy French champagne!

 Until next year....
