This and That

Hi! Thought I would do a "this and that" post of the weekend.
Sawks loves to "help" me knit and cook....

Baseball was cancelled to due to rain on Saturday and I took advantage of some extra time and made a yummy and super simple appetizer. I got a block of feta cheese (with basil and sun-dried tomatoes) and put it in the middle of a small cast iron skillet. Then I surrounded the cheese with cherry tomatoes. Drizzled olive oil, sprinkled with some salt and baked for 20ish minutes at 350 degrees. It's delicious!
Served with pita chips.

Have you watched Yellowjackets on Showtime?!?!?!? WOW!
I couldn't get enough of this. I can't wait for season 2. There are so many storylines wide open!

On Sunday morning I took Wade and Chase out for a little outing. Wade and I love to read and we wanted to take a trip over to Thunder Road Books to spend his gift card I gave him for Christmas. But first a stop for pork roll and cheese at Dalton's bagel shop. The perfect way to start a day!

This was my first visit to Thunder Road Books in Spring Lake, NJ. I loved it! They have a great selection for everyone. It was hard to resist buying something for myself.

I loved this children's book. The illustrations were so pretty. I thought this color combo would make a pretty knitted project.

While I was browsing these two started to color in the kids section.
It was very cute to see them act "little again".
Wade got two books and we were on our way to get some flowers to plant.

We headed to Lanza's Nursery which is a few houses down from us. I got some plants and flowers for the house. It FINALLY felt like spring on Sunday.

I love this silly cat so much! He was very happy to be outside with us as we planted and got the garden and flower beds cleaned up.

Miss Claire, the chicken, even hung outside with us. Felt so good to be outside and not be cold.

Chase found a tiny baby turtle on the porch. We don't know how it got there! Guessing it was in one of our new flower pots.

I'm very happy about my new flowerbed. My dad tilled it for me and I planted some wildflower seeds I had purchased in Pittsburgh when picking up our son from college. I hope they grow!

Hope you are all having a good week and enjoying the nicer weather.
It's supposed to rain very hard in a few hours here. It will water my new seeds and plants!
