If I'm not making, I'm not me. Here's what I have been making lately...
I am joining in with Denise (Earthtones Girl) and her latest knit along, #ilovebooksandknittingsockskal24
Read a book and knit some socks! I'm not a sock knitter but I have made them in the past. I really like Denise and wanted to support her KAL so I jumped in and casted on a sock. I'm using the pattern Susan B Anderson "How I Make My Socks". I'm reading The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. So far it's dealing with some very heavy subject matter. The illustrations inside are beautiful!
I have one hen laying eggs again. Yay! I have been making delicious omelets for breakfast. It's so nice to have homegrown eggs again. They're so much better than the store bought eggs.
Work has been very busy and I've been overwhelmed. So I worked from home yesterday instead of going in to the office and snuck in some time to bake a loaf of sourdough bread. It's crazy how calm baking a loaf of bread can make me. And the smell of it rising and baking is so comforting. We enjoyed it last night with a big pot of this soup.
During lunch Buddy and I took a ride up to Belmar to eat lunch and watch the waves. It was raining so we didn't get out. Buddy did NOT understand why we weren't getting out to play on the sand! Sorry, pup. Wasn't doing it. I listened to the newest episode from From the Front Porch. I also knitted on my sock. You might notice that GIANT book on the dashboard. I'm joining in with Annie for her "conquer a classic", Lonesome Dove. I'm enjoying it so far. The plan is to read it over 10 months but they started in January so I'm trying to catch up.
I gifted a bonnet and booties to a co-worker last month. The baby was born and he's adorable! The mom loves the bonnet so much she asked if I could knit him two more. One a little bigger than the gifted one and one for the fall. So I whipped up these two. They're so cute!
So that's what I've been making this week.
(I also have a secret sweater I am working on that I can't wait to share with you all!)
i pinned the soup. the bonnets are adorable!!
