Yarn Along

Wednesday is here again. Time to post some recent knitting and reading.

Before I start, I want to thank everyone that came out to the farm last weekend for our Holiday Open House. We were surprised that many visitors were here for the first time. We continue to be blessed by the happy families that share their time with us and the alpacas. It was a nice way to kick off the holidays for sure.

So onto knitting.....

I knitted this Kerchief using Acadia yarn from the Fibre Co.
It's a blend of merino, alpaca and silk. It was heavenly to knit with.
The bumps of color are so pretty. I think that my next sweater project needs to be done in this yarn.

It was a very easy and quick knit.

I can't say too much about this purple project because it's going to be a gift.
I am using some Malibrago that has been in my stash for a few years. It's been waiting to be knitted for the perfect project and it's finally becoming something.
I also found a way to knit and read at the same time.
I managed to prop the nook up on my yarn bowl. Now, if I could do this with a real book....

I am still reading Tell the Wolves I'm Home
I don't has great reviews but it's just not grabbing me. I'm going to finish it with hopes that I enjoy the whole story. I really need a GOOD book to read. Any suggestions????

Hope you're having a good week.
Happy Knitting

  1. a yarn bowl, i love those. i have been trying to hit at one for christmas. :)
    the scarf is lovely.

  2. If I ever decided to get a e-reader, it would be for the reason you just mentioned! Your scarf look beautiful :)

  3. I am reading Heart like Water. It is a memoir about life during and after Katrina. I found it on a blog written by a Jersey Boy who moved to New Orleans in time for Katrina. He offered a lot of great advice to the northeast.

  4. What i don't realize is in truth how you are no longer really much more well-preferred than you may be right now. You are very intelligent. You recognize thus significantly relating to this topic, produced me in my opinion believe it from numerous numerous angles. Its like men and women are not involved unless it is one thing to do with Lady gaga! Your own stuffs excellent. Always handle it up!

  5. Oh, how beautiful! I love the rustic quality of the heathered yarns.

  6. Good reading? I read When It Happens to You by Molly Ringwald today. I think she's a pretty talented writer.

  7. I've had a backup of non-fiction and also crave some good reading...yes, that kind that keeps you up at night because you can't put it down! I like Karen Kingsbury, but she always makes me cry and that is sometimes hard to explain in public! I love the yarn bowl idea, but I travel with my projects and would be afraid of damaging it in one bag or another. Although I like the wooden bowl for perhaps being a little more crash-proof. That yarn in the bowl is awesome too. I have a bit of a yarn addiction, so I've been staying away and trying to knit up something I have for now. I haven't run out yet!! New yarn in the spring...
