A New Year of Knitting

Hello and Happy 2013!

I feel like I'm just emerging from the holiday whirl wind.
It was a fun, busy, exhausting and happy week.

I'm happy to have a schedule back and feel like I have a tiny bit of space.

I did more reading than knitting over the break.

I finished up The Shoemaker's Wife.
It was a good read and I would recommend it.
It was 100 pages too long in my opinion, but still worth the read.

My husband spoiled me rotten this Christmas. One of my gifts was this sock yarn seen above to match the rust colored Madelintosh yarn I had in my stash. I am excited to be working on a Suki scarf for myself. Our friend, Sue, that knits with us made a few of these for the farm store. They sold as soon as we put them out! I love the color combo and it's a nice quick knit so far. I just hope I make it big enough to wrap around my neck comfortably.

I also received some great new books for Christmas. So I've been reading them.
For my book club, we chose the novel, By Blood by Ellen Ullman.
I can't put it down. It reminds me of the movie, Rear Window in the way that it is told from the observer. Such an interesting read so far.

I want to thank everyone that visited our farm recently. We were blessed with such nice customers, happy people and more people that fell in love with alpacas.
I'm sure there are MANY warm happy feet in our area thanks to the alpaca socks we sold!

Happy New Year! May it be a good one :)

Joining in today with Ginny. Head over for some inspiration!
