Knitting for The Coop (our farm store) is on full force over here.
Here are some hats that I have knitted up that will be for sale this fall and winter.
I also casted on a "Just enough ruffle scarf" with our Farm Yarn
from Ox. It's a 70% Ox (alpaca) 30% grape purple merino.
So nice to work with!!!
I wanted something special to knit with this yarn. With dark colors, I always fear that detail knitting will be lost. So I decided to go back through patterns I had knitted in the past and I remembered this great scarf. When I first started knitting, I made these. They're really pretty, with just enough ruffle to make it fun, light around the neck and a perfect project to show off Ox's yarn.
The picture doesn't do it justice. It's really a pretty yarn.
Here's a picture of Ox. He is a black alpaca but looks lighter around the face because the sun bleaches the tips of his fleece. Natural highlights!
Reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Wow! Amazing story.
Joining in with Ginny's weekly yarn along and the other knitters out there!
I love the natural highlights!!! Alpaca is my favorite fiber to spin.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy with hats! They look great, I bet they sell pretty quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the hats. X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThe hats looks soft and cozy- ready to wear for colder season. Beautiful alpaca yarn looks so soft- must be so satisfying to knit with your own spun yarn.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the alpaca picture. That made my morning.
ReplyDeleteI love your hats. The one with the ear flaps is my favorite. ;)
Love the hats! My favorite is the little blue and white striped one. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso that book is really, really good! I read it last year just after my son was born. Enjoy. :)
So many beautiful hats!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hats! I think the ear flaps is my fave :) and I really love that purple yarn. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour collection of hats is very cute. Love the yarn enabler picture, that yarn would be perfect for the pattern you are making.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading.
Wow...they are lovely hats, I bet they are so soft! ♥
