Hi knitters :)
Joining in with Ginny again this week. Just saw her cute sweater for Silas and now I want to make it for Chase. Great...another project I want to knit.
A few months ago I was asked by an alapaca farmer friend to knit a little sweater with alpaca yarn for a baby that was due in February. They didn't know if it was a boy or girl but they would like to use it for the christening that would take place in April. I knitted up a sweet little cardigan with cables along the button band and thought it would be perfect. Well....that little baby was born. It's a girl and apparently she isn't that little!!!! So the cardigan had to be reknitted. NOW!
I'm not good at adjusting a pattern. I know how to knit what the pattern says. I blame it on my crappy math brain. The original pattern was a newborn size. So I did some searching around Ravelry and found this cute little sweater. Instead of the cables, it has a quick little lace pattern that resembles hearts.
Thought it was perfect.
Casted on.....and knitting like a crazy lady!!!!
Picked up The House Girl at the library. Looking forward to reading it. Once the sweater is done I can start it.
And just because alpacas are cute, here are a few pictures from this week....
Have a great week!

The sweater looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteLovely sweater... and I agree, those alpacas *are* mighty cute! :)
ReplyDeleteFollowed you here from Yarn Along. What a great idea to knit a christening gown ... the second cardigan is beautiful, and the parents must be very pleased. Alpacas ARE so cute! Wendy

DeleteI love this little sweater! What a wonderful gift! the little hearts make me smile! Normally a mathy person, I'm having a heck of a time mathing up some sizes to cut out quilt pieces so they fit after seams. Gotta have a good sleep night and do it in the morning!! I know when that math block hits you how frustrating it is. I read about alpacas about 5 years ago and I've wanted to hug some ever since. Are they OK with that, or would that freak them out?? They just seem so huggable!!
